Rose street Artists’ Market

If you are looking for one off gems, look no further than Rose Street Artists’ Market in Fitzroy. At 60 Rose street in Fitzroy, the market is situated between the Brunswick and Nicholson Streets. The market comes to life on Saturdays and Sundays. All things handmade, this market sells everything from designer furniture to intricate jewellery to unique paintings. It also provides a wonderful opportunity to meet and have a chat with the artists as well. The market also got its own eatery and a roof top bar – above all, it is dog friendly.

Artists market was started by Adam Ferrante and his brother Christian in 2002. Adam, a sculptor, after graduating from Victorian College of Arts had a short stint in United States, where he was exposed to the DUMBO collective, an artist run market under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. An inspired Adam with the help of his brother turned their father’s junkyard into an Artists market which is running successfully for the last 16 years.
