Federation University Road National Championships
The Cycling Championship is in its 11th consecutive year in Ballarat. Federation University Road National Championships features an exciting five-day program beginning with the action packed and crowd friendly criterium races. Australia’s best under 19, under 23, elite and para cyclists battle for the coveted green and gold national champions jerseys in the criterium, and the road race and time trial, with a host of other exciting racing and recreational opportunities and community events.
Ballarat Beer Festival
Ballarat Beer Festival is a one-day event showcasing over one hundred and fifty of the world’s finest craft beers. Sample, sip and savour your way to craft beervana.
Organs of the Ballarat Goldfields
This is a festival of classical music that lasts 10 days during summer. The focus is not only on music but also on the history of the area, its churches, public buildings, parks and gardens and its private homes and properties. The history of the place is made available to the visitors either through written or oral presentation.
Ballarat Swap Meet
This is Southern Hemisphere’s largest swap meet for motoring enthusiasts. More than 2000 vendors sell their wares at the Ballarat Airport Grounds.
White Night Ballarat
During the 2-day White Night celebrations Ballarat comes alive through installation, lighting, exhibitions, performance, film, music, dance and more throughout the streets, laneways and public spaces.
Ballarat Begonia Festival
This is a free event held over the Labour Day long weekend in March and involves exciting line up of entertainment, activities, talks, culinary delights and celebrity guests. There is something for everyone, from children’s activities, gardening tips and displays, to live comedy, craft and garden markets, food and beverage outlets, floral demonstrations, displays and more.
The festival was launched in the autumn of 1953 by local Ballarat residents, who were keen to highlight and celebrate the growing post-war prosperity of their town and the local region.
Ballarat Heritage Weekend
For over a decade, Ballarat Heritage Weekend has been delivering an immersive, engaging and fascinating experience for visitors. With a storied history and incredible streetscapes, Ballarat is an exciting place to explore and this event delicately intertwines the past and present to create a unique offering unlike any other.
Wide streets, gorgeous gardens, majestic statues and iconic architecture – Ballarat provides the perfect backdrop for this event experience. Springfest Market Weekend
Held along the 6km of beautiful Lake Wendouree foreshore this huge annual market offers locally made fashions, health and beauty stuff, accessories, food, flowers, plants, toys and art. There is something for everyone here. SpringFest Ballarat is a project of the Rotary Club of Ballarat
The Ballarat Cup is a Listed race held at Ballarat Racecourse in Victoria each year. The Ballarat Cup (2000m) boasts a total prize pool of $300,000 and is run under handicap.
