Aspendale beach is situated 27km southeast of Melbourne CBD in the suburb of Aspendale. This is a beautiful beach always neat and clean thanks to the volunteers. Aspendale beach forms part of the bayside beaches like Mentone, Parkdale, Mordialloc, Edithvale, Carrum and Frankston. The wider expanse of sugar like sand here adds to the beauty of the beach and the comparatively good water quality is an added advantage. Aspendale Railway station is situated close to the beach. The ticketed car park is situated just a jump away from the beach. A few beach boxes are lined up on the beach but there is not much of a foreshore to boast about. There is toilet facility close to the car park.
In January 2021, a shark was spotted in the waters near Aspendale Beach and swimmers were advised to leave. The beach is patrolled from November to April by volunteers of Aspendale Life Saving Club, which is in existence since 1926. The club building is being rebuilt in 2021 by Government funding.
